The Trustees visited Ian Rank-Broadley’s studio in Gloucestershire in June 2018 to view the maquette, prior to submitting a request for planning permission to Winchester City Council.  The maquette is about a third size and made of clay.  It has to be kept moist and is therefore under plastic sheeting when it is not being viewed.  It looked even better than the photographs suggested, and is a testament to Ian Rank-Broadley’s outstanding ability.
